WESTINGHOUSE GIVES BUSINESSES ALL-IN-ONE DIGITAL SIGNAGE SOLUTION

Leading LCD HDTV Provider Announces New High-End Displays for the Commercial Marketplace Including New Digital-Signage-in-a-Box Solution

Las Vegas, NV – Westinghouse Digital, one of the top five LCD manufacturers in the U.S.*, offers businesses a compelling reason to deploy digital signage through a new line of LCD solutions created specifically for the professional and commercial markets. Westinghouse Digital’s complete LCD digital signage line will be on display at Booth #21707 at the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show, January 7-10 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Westinghouse Digital’s new Digital-Signage-in-a-Box is an easy-to-use content management system that gives business owners, using any Westinghouse Digital commercial LCD HDTV, the ability to “narrowcast” by quickly and easily customizing the content on their displays and creating and displaying their own digital signage, such as advertising and informational messages, for dynamic ad insertion alongside the content. For example, a restaurant owner can use Digital-Signage-in-a-Box to drive sales by quickly creating, say, a Buffalo Wings ad, targeting only those customers watching the football game, while running a different ad on another display showing the local news, with both ads running simultaneously with the content on their respective displays.

“Westinghouse Digital is rapidly becoming much more than just a consumer LCD HDTV manufacturer. We are introducing an array of LCDs for the professional markets that will enable business owners to cost effectively deploy display solutions in their environments. Digital-Signage-in-a-Box is just one example of our new commercial business offering,” said John Araki, Vice President and General Manager, Commercial Business Unit, at Westinghouse Digital Electronics. “Digital-Signage-in-a-Box is the evolution of interactivity for the commercial digital signage industry and thus is the key component of our new line of high-end LCD displays for the business environment.”

In addition to Digital-Signage-in-a-Box, Westinghouse Digital is also unveiling several new commercial LCD HDTVs for the pro market at CES 2008. These commercial displays include an RS-232C connection that provides the controllability necessary for complex installations and multiple panel configurations, making them ideal for use in a video wall. The RS-232C communication features read-in command control codes and send acknowledgement and allows for longer distance communication.

Westinghouse Digital’s new family of commercial displays feature the best of its proprietary technology including SpineDesign™ construction to eliminate cable clutter and allow easy access to video source connections; DayBright™ panel technology for stunning daytime or nighttime viewing; and AutosourceÔ technology, intelligent engineering that automatically turns on and adjusts the TV when an external source is detected. Additional features include an installation menu that offers a remote password to access the installation menu, front panel, channel and OSD remote lockouts, start volume, start channel, volume maximize/minimize and Forced Power On features.

Targeting government and educational markets are the new 26” P2650HR and 32” P3250HR LCD HDTVs. Both displays feature 720p resolution, wide 176-degree viewing angles and a built-in ATSC/ClearQAM Tuner. They also include an anti-tip over/theft deterrent bracket, a weekly timer, a sleep timer, favorite channel list, and both input source and channel name edit.

Designed for digital signage applications are the new 42” VM-42F140S and 47” VM-47F140S video monitors. Perfect for use in such environments as shopping malls, financial institutions, colleges and universities, movie theaters, car dealerships or any facility requiring continual display of information or presentations, these new displays feature 1080Pure™ for 1080p resolution out of all HD connectors, bottom firing speakers, wide 176-degree viewing angles and a stylish black bezel.

Digital Signage in a Box is scheduled to be available in Q2 2008

The P2650HR ($799.99), P3250HR ($899.99 MSRP), VM-42F140S ($1399.99 MSRP) and VM-47F140S ($1899.88 MSRP) are all currently available.
