WESTINGHOUSE DIGITAL LAUNCHES NEW DEDICATED BUSINESS UNIT TO PROPEL INTO EXPANDED COMMERCIAL MARKETPLACE


Leading LCD HDTV Manufacturer Introduces New Business Unit to Concentrate on Commercial Business Development, Digital Signage and B2B LCD Displays

Las Vegas, NV – Westinghouse Digital, one of the top five LCD TV manufacturers in the U.S.*, announces the launch of its new Commercial Business Unit that will focus exclusivity on commercial businesses development, digital signage and B2B LCD displays. Leading the charge of this newly created unit will be John Araki, Vice President and General Manager, Commercial Business Unit, at Westinghouse Digital Electronics. Douglas Woo, President and General Manager, Westinghouse Digital Electronics, will continue to head up the company’s Consumer Electronics Business Unit. Westinghouse Digital’s complete LCD line will be on display at Booth #21707 at the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show, January 7-10 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

“Westinghouse Digital has had tremendous success in the consumer TV and display business and with the launch of the Commercial Business Unit, we are leveraging that success to further cross into the commercial marketplace,” said Araki. “Westinghouse Digital is expanding from a consumer TV company to a fully integrated complete solution technology company. While Westinghouse Digital’s primary business will remain in consumer electronics LCD HDTVs, computer monitors and digital photo frames, the new Commercial Business Unit will focus and solely concentrate on commercial business development and partnerships, digital signage applications and B2B LCD displays.

The new Commercial Business unit will consist of dedicated Westinghouse Digital sales teams, product managers and product developers. There will be a major increased emphasis on R&D and product development in the commercial group. Westinghouse Digital product groups that will fall under the Commercial Business Unit include the company’s complete line of professional display products, targeted to the demanding needs of the Pro A/V business sector, the company’s VM product line, consisting of 1080p displays without TV tuners as well as new quad monitors that offer super high resolutions for business applications.

In addition, Westinghouse Digital’s PumpTop TV initiative with AdtekMedia, which allows for TV at the gas pump, will also be included in the Commercial Business Unit as well as other forthcoming commercial business and digital signage initiatives, partnership and products. “Westinghouse Digital is utilizing the same prowess it has shown to become a leader in the consumer LCD HDTV market and is now crossing over into other business groups and platforms to become an integrated and complete display solutions provider. We are taking display technology and moving into new fields and will continue our globalization campaign and efforts.”
